The Caring Connection began providing Lehigh Valley seniors with non-medical home care in 1991. The founder, Nan Van Gieson, discovered the need for compassionate homecare after she and her brother took on the difficult task of caring for their ill parents at home. Nan understood all too well that assisted living facilities and nursing homes were where most seniors spent their remaining years. Nan had previously worked with The Red Cross’ elderly program as well as being the former Director of Elderwell. Nan knew she had the knowledge and experience needed to provide seniors in the area with a different option. The option would allow seniors to spend their remaining years in the comfort of their own homes instead of in a facility.
Today, The Caring Connection is owned and operated by Wellope Williams. In 1995, Wellope joined The Caring Connection as a Direct Care Worker, later being promoted to Care Coordinator. Wellope became sole owner of The Caring Connection in 2001. Prior to joining The Caring Connection, Wellope worked in Physical Therapy and Pulmonary Medicine departments of Easton Hospital as well as the secured dementia unit in a local facility. With 35 years of experience in the Senior Care/Healthcare field, Wellope has made it her priority to provide seniors with a better homecare choice.
